Judging by all the smiles in the media images, there will be nothing but good times in store when Topgolf opens its first Northwest facility next week.
The 65,000-square-foot golfing and entertainment venue is scheduled to officially open in Hillsboro at 9 a.m. Friday, Aug. 5. When it does, it will feature three stories, 100 hitting bays, golfing games, food and beverages, a rooftop terrace and more than 200 TVs. In June, the company posted 450 job openings for the Hillsboro site.
The Topgolf facility, located at 5505 N.W. Huffman St., sits on 13 acres of the Majestic Brookwood Business Park, a 73-acre industrial center that’s being developed by California real estate developer Majestic Realty Co. In April, Majestic broke ground on a 303,000-square-foot industrial warehouse in the center that is set to deliver in the third quarter of this year.
The new building will occupy almost 16 acres in the park and feature 32-foot ceiling clearance, 82 dock doors and 301 parking spaces. Majestic is working locally with Colliers International and hopes to have much of the building leased before it wraps up construction.
The new building will share the park with a 200,000-square-foot ViaWest data center, which opened its first phase in September 2015. All told, the Majestic Brookwood Business Park could top out at more than a million square feet of space after future building phases.
Majestic bought the property for the business park from the Nike Foundation in 2014 for $15 million.
