Industrial real estate developer Majestic Realty Co. is moving forward with its latest expansion of Airport Center. Majestic has filed plans with the state for a 1.5 million-square-foot warehouse project on 160 acres in Union City.
Majestic is seeking to rezone the land to become the next phase of the developer’s Airport Center III project. It will be reviewed as part of the state’s developments of regional impact program. Majestic targets 2015 for its completion.
Atlanta Business Chronicle reported earlier this year on Majestic’s plans to develop the site. The acquisition gave Majestic well over 300 acres from Flat Shoals Road to Jonesboro Road — one of the region’s best known logistics submarkets.
Majestic has completed more than 5.2 million square feet of deals over the past year including leases at its existing Majestic Airport Center I and II projects.
“There are a fair number of large deals in the market on Atlanta’s south side right now,” Stan Conway, a Majestic Realty Co. senior vice president and its director of development, told Atlanta Business Chronicle in March. “That includes retailers, apparel makers, grocery store operators.”
