John Semcken joined Majestic Realty Co. in January 1996 as Vice President and has managed some of the company’s largest, highest profile development projects and plays an active role in identifying new opportunities for Majestic’s vast commercial real estate portfolio. He is an active Senior Development Partner working in markets including Northern and Southern California., Chicago/Southeastern Wisconsin, as well as Houston, Texas.
In addition, he was responsible for the development of the $400 million Staples Center in downtown Los Angeles. He is also co-owner and senior development partner for the $60 million redevelopment and renovation of the Pacific Palms Conference Resort in the City of Industry, Calif.
His philanthropic endeavors include co-founding the Land of the Free Foundation and serving on several boards including the US Naval Academy Foundation Board of Trustees, Metropolitan YMCA Board of Directors, LA Sports and Entertainment Commission, and LA Civic Alliance. He was awarded the Boy Scouts of America Good Character Award.
John is a graduate of the United States Naval Academy where he received a Bachelor of Science degree in Aerospace Engineering. A graduate of US Navy Fighter Weapons School, John was the Technical advisor for the Tom Cruise blockbuster movie “Top Gun”.
